Considered by IMDb as the top rated film of all time, The Shawshank Redemption represents and portrays one of the best stories I ever encountered. It is a story about life, centered around Andy Dufresne, played by Tim Robbins, who ends up in jail for a crime, he claims, he did not commit. Indeed, once found in this predicament he adapts to life in prison and even more, he makes the best of it. Without going to much into detail, it is a story about sacrifice, lies and deceptions, greed, but more important about fate and hope. It is a personal favorite and it is a film that transcends time with its story. Definitely worth a watch with the family.
